About AuroraMeteo
Most aurora forecasts answer a global question. Travellers and residents need a local one: will I see it from here, which way do I look, and when is my best chance?
What we do
We combine live space weather, local cloud forecasts, astronomy, terrain and light-pollution data into a page for every town where the aurora can be seen, and we publish 21 years of nightly statistics so that plans can be based on data.
Principles
- Every number is explained on the methodology page.
- Only openly licensed data, with every source credited.
- Affiliate links are marked and never affect scores or rankings.
- We say when we are unsure: forecasts are estimates, not promises.
