Why guests love it
Seeing the northern lights is the reason many guests travel north, but most forecasts are written for experts: Kp indices, solar wind, colourful maps. Your guests want three answers: is it worth going outside tonight, when, and which way to look.
The guest page answers exactly that, for your own location, using the same live data as AuroraMeteo: NOAA's Kp forecast and OVATION aurora nowcast, the cloud cover forecast for your pin and the hours of real darkness. Fewer “will we see it tonight?” messages for you, more happy reviews.
Questions and answers
Is it really free?
Yes. The guest page, the QR poster and the website snippets are free, with no account and no limit on views.
Do I need an account?
No. When you create a page you get a private manage link. Keep it safe (bookmark it or e-mail it to yourself): anyone with the link can edit the page, and it is the only way to change it.
How accurate is the forecast for my property?
Darkness, cloud cover and the aurora nowcast are calculated for your exact pin; the Kp needed is taken from the nearest town page, which accounts for latitude and terrain. Aurora forecasts are reliable for the next few hours and give a good idea for the next 2–3 nights.
Will guests need an app?
No. The QR code opens a normal web page that works on any phone, in 19 languages, and updates itself.
Can I use it for several properties?
Yes. Create one page per property; each gets its own pin, poster and manage link.
Does my guest page appear in search engines?
No. Guest pages are made for your guests and are not indexed. If you add your website, guests see a link to it.
